Butterflies, flowers and guest

It seems to be butterfly season right now. In a walk today I came across at least 6 or 7 in different spots. I'll have a few posts of the various pics.

Here are a few with a well camouflaged praying mantis.











I also made icons from some of these photos.

I love this -- and it's very hard to capture butterflies on camera.

So true, it's even more surprising to me that this was from a phone camera because I, at least, find those slower to prep, especially since holding it still for a while often resets it to my home page.

Oh, wow. Yeah, I'd agree with that. I have one as well -- they are astonishing good. But also...not good at taking pictures of moving wildlife or anything far away. I have struggled taking similar pictures on multiple occasions for the reasons you state above.

Hmmm...what type of phone? Mines I-Phone 6 (because I'm too cheap to upgrade the thing unless I absolutely have to.)

It's a Motorola G7, though my old Samsung took quite good photos too but had the same issue. And I could never get it to zoom and the flash was useless since it would go off a moment before the photo was taken rather than at the same time.

Wow! That mantis is really well camouflaged.

Right? I've never even seen one grey like that, just a few brown/green ones.
