Spider + victim

This photo is behind a cut because arachnids are not everyone’s favourite and this one is having a meal.



We found this spider indoors, feasting on its unidentified victim. The children were fascinated and watched it for a good 20 minutes, until it abandoned the dried husk and scampered off to the shadows.

That appears to be another spider, actually. Hard for me to tell, but it looks like they have (well, had now) eight legs and the chelicerae.

We thought it was another spider too, but as I wasn't sure, I didn't want to say. Thanks for adding to the consensus. :)
