Forest of Dean/Wye Not?

We just moved from central London to a woodland property (Forest of Dean/Wye Valley) this week, so I’m taking a lot of photos!


I found her in the furthest pasture, and I call her the Entwife.

Down into our front pasture. I love the orange “shadow” of leaves around the tree.

Gorgeous.

You'll find you photography level goes way up and mine was already huge.

I suspect she may be a hawthorn or perhaps a blackthorn. You'll know for sure come spring when you get the blossom.

I think between you and me we’re going to be inundating this page with West Midlands/SW England countryside ;)

I think she’s a hawthorn or blackthorn as well. Learning more British flora/fauna is one of our goals while we live here. We want to be able to know the name of everything in the woodland.

They both blossom white, but the florets are slightly different.
