ridiculous nuthatch details
I was wandering around my local larger park when a nuthatch hung out on a tree (around my height) and declined to leave, despite my sloooowwwly getting closer to her. (Or him.) So I shrugged and kept taking pictures. I'm not sure if it was frozen in an effort to get me to stop caring, like squirrels and rabbits do, if it was protecting a specific spot, or what. (I suspect a mixture of both.) But anyway. Nuthatch close-ups, because I feel like it.
A bit further out.

The nuthatch blinks.

Quite close to.

Guess what? Nuthatch butt! ...Sorry, my nephew's 2 and I am starting to think of bad riddles from my youth. Anyway, I enjoy the belly feathers, and also the layering of its wings. After this one, I went off to do other things, and so did the nuthatch.

Also, a crow from a few days ago.

A bit further out.
