Dothill and the Beanhill Brook

Dothill is a former gentry estate not far from where we live and the Beanhill Brook, a tributary of the River Tern (itself a tributary of the River Severn) runs through it and feeds a lake and a pool.

It makes for a nice short local walk.

When we arrived there was a buzzard looking out for prey:

And we walked along the Beanhill Brook:

They've been building traditional hedge fences in the landscape. The hope is always that the uprights will root and grow:

You can get across the brook if your balance is good!

There's even a wee bridge :o)

And that's the Beanhill Brook.

I have more pics of other places in Dothill that I'll share another time!

I always love seeing tree-trunk bridges over streams! Even though I'm usually too wary to use them.

Oh interesting, I hadn't seen that type of hedge fence before. Seems like such a great idea to have it be a living wall.

A lovely place! But the first pic is the real star.
