Early Winter in south Shropshire

We're just back from spending a few days in Ludlow, in the south of our county.

I think the trouble with old watermills and restoration is that they are so close to water and the River Teme is prone to flood.

It was so quiet once out of the town. We didn't meet a single vehicle on that back lane walk.

We pay for it with the huge Atlantic Winter storms though- that's what keeps it all so green.

We actually live in the region and this is only about thirty miles away at the other end of the county.

We used to holiday up here for walking and birdwatching and such and when we finished with work it just seemed logical to move here, especially as I have ancestry in the region. :o)
