Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos and Pigeons

Took these two photos a week or so ago up at the shops.

White ones are Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos. The others are just pigeons. There were about half a dozen of the cockatoos in total, and a dozen pigeons, but the others were too far away for the photo. Birds like to hang around in that spot because people sit at the nearby bus stop or in the park and eat their lunch.

Neat! Funny to think it's the pigeons that are the "exotic" birds in these pictures since they're native to Eurasia and north Africa.

How wonderful to see in the wild that Cockatoo. I have only seen them in zoos. Now pigeons, that's another story, but I do still like them even though they are not very appreciated in parts of the US.

The Cockatoos are really nice to see out in the world. We get them in our backyard too. They like to sit in trees and pick at the branches, dropping bits to the ground. Very messy birds! lol

They do seem to! They were in each other's spaces, and didn't seem bothered at all.

They can grow up to around 20 inches I believe. I don't think these ones were that big though.

Lovely pictures! We don't have wild Cockatoos here, so it always delights me to see pictures of wild ones where you can naturally find them.

They are such beauties! It's so interesting to me to see them next to the pigeons, because I've seen cockatoos once and pigeons many many times.
