Yes ...
When I say my yard is a jungle, I mean it has all the layers of a jungle and a food forest.
* Emergent (sycamore)
* Upper canopy (walnut & hackberry)
* Lower canopy (mulberry)
* Understory trees (redbud, nannyberry, etc.)
* Shrub layer (hazelnut, privet, etc.)
* Herb layer (grasses, wildflowers, etc.)
* Groundcover (wild strawberries, clover, etc.)
* Vine layer (wild grapes, cypress vine, etc.)
* Root layer (crosne knotroots, sunchokes, etc.)
* Fungus layer (various inedible species)
