Indigo Bunting, Cardinal, Mourning Dove

In all the time we've been here we've never spotted this bird before. We now have a regular Indigo Bunting visitor

When I first saw it I even wondered if I'd imagined it's blue color amidst the finches and sparrows. But nope, this photo makes clear what a brilliant color it has.

Here's the bunting in a formal pose mid bite

A look at the bunting for size comparison with the mourning dove.

Speaking of the mourning doves, one visiting us kept hanging out and spreading out their wings in between bursts of nibbling.

We've also got a pair of cardinals visiting. I only caught Ms Cardinal in the past weeks but was amused by this series of photos:

Here she is, crest up.

Here's a bit of a lean...

And then when she noticed her picture being taken.

What nice bird photos! The indigo bunting is stunning.

I'm very fond of mourning doves, especially when they're sunbathing like that.

The cardinal looks not unlike some of my relatives, on realizing there is a camera aimed their way.
