rydra_wong: Grasshopper mouse stands on its hind legs to howl. (turn venom into painkillers)

I don't know what it is and I can't see it

But I'm fairly sure from the loud scrabbling noises that it's either stuck or trying to build a nest in my kitchen vent. And that it has claws.

I will be attempting to have it removed kindly.

(Coming soon, the next episode of Rydra's Wildlife Home Invasions, from the team that brought you "Bathroom Full of Bees", "Fox In Attic" and "Bird Stuck Inside Stove".)

I hope it cooperates with the removal!

I found a slow-worm in the kitchen last weekend. Thankfully it raised no objection to being gently transported back out in the garden.

Do I even want to know what a slow-worm is?

Oh, I love reptiles. Thanks! (But darn, the poor critter needs a re-naming.)

Slow-wyrm. It's slow because it can't wear cross-trainers.

Neither a worm nor a snake, but a legless lizard. Entirely harmless.

So I'm learning! First time even hearing the term. I was expecting some giant, slimy thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that. All of God's creation is fascinating. But I'm a bit squeamish when it comes to certain things.
