Spider + victim

This photo is behind a cut because arachnids are not everyone’s favourite and this one is having a meal.

IMG_1015

We found this spider indoors, feasting on its unidentified victim. The children were fascinated and watched it for a good 20 minutes, until it abandoned the dried husk and scampered off to the shadows.

Heh, my SO is afraid of spiders so I have to do all the hunting when they come indoors. Never seen one at a meal though, I'm not surprised the kids were fascinated. Quite the photo!

That appears to be another spider, actually. Hard for me to tell, but it looks like they have (well, had now) eight legs and the chelicerae.

I remember spending ages watching a spider on my front porch as it built its web. They are rather amazing creatures. And on the whole, I'd rather have spiders in the house than flies...

This one has amazingly long legs.

Excellent shot. Could be in the harvestmen family?

Interesting! And fascinating, at least for as long as it held the attention of the observers.
