Tee Lake, Dothill

The rest of the photos from Dothill as promised!

Tee Lake is so called because it was deliberately created by the owners of the old gentry house in a T shape on the site back in the 19th century. The house is long gone,  but the lake remains as a sanctuary for wildlife.

This big male swan is a bit of a bully- he was going for the Canada geese!









Handsome chap, though!





The bulrushes are greening up:







And the flag irises are coming along:



White deadnettle coming into flower:







And somebody unusual for these parts. They'd been extinct here for thousands of years but have been re-introduced. This is a red necked terrapin:





And that was our morning in Dothill!
