The rest of the photos from Dothill as promised!

Tee Lake is so called because it was deliberately created by the owners of the old gentry house in a T shape on the site back in the 19th century. The house is long gone,  but the lake remains as a sanctuary for wildlife.

You can click on the pics to embiggen if you wish.

This big male swan is a bit of a bully- he was going for the Canada geese!

Handsome chap, though!

The bulrushes are greening up:

And the flag irises are coming along:

White deadnettle coming into flower:

And somebody unusual for these parts. They'd been extinct here for thousands of years but have been re-introduced. This is a red necked terrapin:

And that was our morning in Dothill!

Oh nice sighting of the terrapin! And I am amused that for once someone is a bigger bully than the geese.

I don't recall seeing much imagery of terrapins before.

One thing I can guarantee about Canada geese is that if you pick a fight with one, you won't be unscathed by the end of it, whatever else happens!

Turtle - unexpectedly. Since childhood, I have not seen them in the wild (in those days we lived in the south).

Getting stuck in a fight between a swan and geese sounds like a horror story! Your pictures are really pretty, though.
