Young White Wagtail

The first clutch of baby wagtails have left their nests and started following the parents around begging for food. They're much shyer than the parent birds but today I managed to get a pretty nice close-up of one while it perched on a fence close to me (click to enlarge):

Are those babies particularly noisy? We once had a juvenile robin show up at the parents' new nest on our balcony and were alerted by the ongoing racket!

In the autumn the parents seem to put up with them until they're almost grown but I suspect the chicks in this first clutch of the season don't get spoiled for nearly as long.

I love wagtails! They're so elegant and so much fun to watch. They're very common here in Sweden, particularly in smaller towns and suburbs with lots of parks and gardens.

Wagtails are such elegant birds, even when they're a bit fluffy and gangly like this one :-)

They're not very loud but VERY persistent :-)
