I met the dumbest rabbit in the *world* a few days ago. I was at a former golf course (now a park) at dusk, so of course, many rabbits were around. (There were 12 in my field of vision at one point.

One of this year's crop was going doot do doo out in the open, never froze once in my presence, and took a dust bath while I was about 10 feet away. This rabbit is not long for this world, but will be very cute until it is eaten.

It is very smol.



And here it is taking its dustbath.



After it had finally left, I yelled to one of the other rabbits, "Teach your children better!"

The other rabbit looked properly scandalized by the younger rabbit's behavior.

I've never actually *had* rabbit. Gamey, I assume?

I've only had farmed rabbit, and I wouldn't call it gamy. It had a light flavor and texture. Basically, mammalian chicken, if that makes sense.

Aw how adorable! Yes that seems unusual. I have only twice seen a baby around here but they were very skittish.

We've had smol rabbits in the yard many times, and there's always at least one like this. The dust bath is adorable, though.

Once saw a young rabbit -- smaller than a squirrel -- that did freeze but didn't bolt until I was in a couple of feet of it.

Then it bolted past me so fast that I didn't turn quickly enough to see it vanish into a bush in my garden.

I went back to encourage it to bolt FARTHER away, not nearer.
