The Night Sky

The horizon glow was such a contrast to the blackening clouds approaching it.

Venus has been particularly bright in our sky and even Jupiter (which does have a red shine!) is also very noticeable, usually on our horizon.

The best I was able to do was the one above being Venus, and the other two being Jupiter. I still find it amazing we can see a sphere with just a zoom lens camera.

Beautiful photos!

Wow, cameras have come a long way to be able to resolve a planet at all.

Wow, your planet shots are amazing. I've never tried stellar astrophotography.

Great pics

Apparently we'll be getting an alignment of five planets this evening!

I'm eagerly awaiting this phenomenon, too, and eyeing the clouds on my horizon inimically.

Two of the planets, Jupiter and Mercury, will be only about four degrees above the horizon and will set about half an hour after the sun. But Mars, Venus, and the Moon will make a nice show for a while after. Uranus is supposed to be around too, but I've never seen that with the naked eye.

I always love your sky photos, and am amazed by the planetary ones.
