The first clutch of baby wagtails have left their nests and started following the parents around begging for food. They're much shyer than the parent birds but today I managed to get a pretty nice close-up of one while it perched on a fence close to me

In the autumn the parents seem to put up with them until they're almost grown but I suspect the chicks in this first clutch of the season don't get spoiled for nearly as long.
