Sunflowers and Friends

An overview of the sunflower field.

An example of sunflowers which have tipped over still trying to reach up.

Thought the sunflowers looked like they were kissing.

We saw a number of examples of these purple vines wrapped around the sunflower stalks.

Bee and sunflower

Some geese passing overhead.

These are great

I especially like the pictures of the sunflowers with the blue-flowered vines around them.

Thank you for sharing!! Sunflowers are my favorite flower, this made me very happy. Those blue flower vines look maybe like Morning Glories? They're very pretty as well!

Ah, so pretty! Love that first photo where the sunflower fields seem to stretch on over the horizon into infinity.

Oh I do too -- I love seeing that sea of yellow 😊

As did the late amateur songwriter Tiel Faulkner:

Hi! I love seeing all these sunflowers—thanks for sharing them. I'd be curious to know what general area they were growing in, if you're OK with saying.

Re the small bluish flowers, I am not am expert, but agree that they could be morning glories. I zoomed in on your shot to try to see their leaf shapes: three-lobed. Then I got confused, because if I just do a web search for morning glories, I see a lot of heart-shaped leaves, instead.

However! Wikipedia says that there are more than 1000 different species of plants that are commonly called morning glories [link], and at least two of those species can have three-lobed leaves: Ipomoea hederacea [link] and Ipomoea nil [link]. So, quite possible!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
