Photos: House Yard
Today I took pictures around the yard. It's cloudy, so the lighting is bad, but so much is happening that I wanted to capture it. See the House Yard, South Lot, Savanna, and Prairie Garden.
As I was heading outside, I spotted this pair of house finches at the hopper feeder. The picture is murky because I shot through the kitchen window.
The rain garden is all leaves right now.
Columbine is the biggest of the plants so far.
This is bleeding heart.
The burgundy one is coral bells or heuchera. It comes in many leaf colors and patterns.
From the patio, this is a wide view of the house yard looking east.
The barrel garden has tulips and daffodils blooming around it.
The 'Purissima' white tulip has variegated leaves of green streaked with yellow. I love tulips with variegated leaves.
These tulips are blooming pink.
This is the log garden.
Grape hyacinth blooms pale blue in the log garden.
These grape hyacinths are white.
Yellow daffodils are blooming under the mulberry.
These are white with pink cups.
Bluebells are blooming in the forest garden.
These grape hyacinths are purple with white tops.

The barrel garden, with its jaunty skewed angles and ring of spring flowers, has the air of a children’s picture book cover. (I suspect you’d maintain a Lost And Found for any stray rabbit-sized blue jackets with brass buttons.)
The violets are pervasive and awaiting their turn to bloom.

:D It's a favorite tulip. The blocks raise the barrel to a convenient height.

More of them have bloomed over the past few days, but the leaves are still small and low.
