Bunvelope

This was a prep sketch I did while on a mural painting job. It's a standard-size business envelope with ballpoint pen and a little earth-toned acrylic paint.

Something about it makes me happy. Perhaps I ought to draw on envelopes more often.

Now and then I do what I call a Small Things Art Sale post. I'm considering another one, to help offset some of my moving-to-new-apartment expenses -- the little stuff, you know, like the hummingbird feeder and the baskets to store things in the bathroom. If anyone's interested, I'll offer this little drawing as part of it, at around $15, which would include shipping.

And no worries, I wouldn't just stick a stamp on it and mail it. Unless you asked me to. :-D

Irises

We spent last weekend visiting friends in Minnesota and on Sunday we went to the Landscape Arboretum. Some of the irises were still in bloom, along with the roses and the peonies. Yes, I took lots of pictures. I couldn't help it. Everything was so beautiful. It was a wonderfully relaxing day. Here are a few of the lovely irises we saw. :D

(no subject)

We had a new animal come to feed on fallen seed yesterday, which I believe was a groundhog. It's missing some fur in spots. I don't know if it's mange or if it was in a fight or something else. I think it's funny that in the video, it seems to be sucking up both the new seeds and the empty hulls (my wife [personal profile] michiru has named it 'Hoover.')

And here's a bonus picture I took today. At first I thought it was a baby blue jay, but then I realized (after it got up and hopped away) that it was an adult blue jay who was just spreading out his wing to enjoy the warm sunshine. ^_^

Dog daisies in Loathingland

Last weekend I stayed the night with [livejournal.com profile] garienos and then went for a walk in his nearby meadow to photograph the flowers.
