We had a new animal come to feed on fallen seed yesterday, which I believe was a groundhog. It's missing some fur in spots. I don't know if it's mange or if it was in a fight or something else. I think it's funny that in the video, it seems to be sucking up both the new seeds and the empty hulls (my wife [personal profile] michiru has named it 'Hoover.')

And here's a bonus picture I took today. At first I thought it was a baby blue jay, but then I realized (after it got up and hopped away) that it was an adult blue jay who was just spreading out his wing to enjoy the warm sunshine. ^_^

What an unusual shot of the bluejay! He does look like he's enjoying himself. *g*

And yes, that critter looks like a groundhog to me, too. We call them woodchucks. I've never seen one with patchy fur like that. Its tail is partially de-furred, also. Wonder what's wrong? Hoover is a good name!

That groundhog doesn't look too healthy. Poor fella!
