November Sunset

Along with the very cold temperatures here this week, we did have a spectacular sunset a few days ago.

My favorite is the first picture. Do you live near a lake?


Been having decent sunsets here as well -- which I see out the window of the subway as it goes over the Viaduct. Great view of the City and Southern Brooklyn as well. (Highlight of the commute.)

Yes, we're over a portion of an X shaped lake. The sunsets make up for the afternoon and evening heat in the summers :) We're on the second floor so just high enough to get a good view over the trees at the other end.

That sounds like a really nice view as well. I remember when I lived in OC, California there were some very nice sunsets we got to see (also from a second floor balcony facing west). But I don't know that I've seen any as nice as we've had while living here. It might have to do with the relative flatness and openness which gives one a better view of the sky.

Where in Indiana are you? Up north? I'm assuming north...towards University of Indiana, which is actually a really nice part of the state. (And the part that I have not been in. Although I did flirt with going to school there at one point -- for their folklore program.)

Actually in Illinois more in line with Indianapolis than Chicago.

They were. What's always puzzling to me is what the camera sees vs what we do. For example in the top photo there is a lot of blue with color mostly at the horizon. But for us seeing it, the entire sky was a light pink with colors getting more intense at the horizon.
