Even more true of wildlife shots: wildlife behavior on an idyllic blue Chamber-of-Commerce day, when you’re all set with your blind and tripod and best Sunday camera, will be nothing but crickets (unless crickets were what you came hoping to film, in which case they’ll be AWOL.)

Wildlife behavior at 3 AM when you’re in your bathrobe taking out the garbage will be Michigan J. Frog belting out his ragtime song-and-dance routine.
