This is apparently a Common Green Darner.  She is 4"+ long in the body and about the same in wingspan. I sure wouldn't want to meet her if I were a bug!!

I can believe it! If you didn't have such a wonderful close-up I think I'd have had trouble spotting it too. What a lovely color.

This one was apparently not concerned about the large human who touched his wing!! It had flown away by the time I finished watering the garden tho.
