Our celebrity viewing

I liked the look of this inky sunset. But this post is mostly about someone else.



Mr. Cardinal is our local celebrity at the bird food plate. We get bunches of house sparrows but the cardinal pair are the ones we keep hoping will take up residence in our dwarf lilacs.



I haven't gotten photos yet this year of the red winged blackbirds who come by. The male has the funny habit of first landing on our railing, and then turning around several times as he calls. Not sure why.

Terrific shots. I've been seeing a larger number of birds and squirrels at the feeders, and it's such a delight to watch them.
