A couple of unusual things
Jun. 6th, 2021 07:41 pm We noticed this in a dark, mossy corner of the local forest.

At first I thought it must be a ghost bluebell or some such as the bluebells have been dying back after the recent big bloom.
However, a friend here on DW who is a bit of an expert on plant life tells me that we have had what he describes as a 'unicorn moment'.
This is a bird's nest orchid. Apparently very rare and a lover of the very sort of dark, mossy woodland we were walking in. It's in decline due to habitat loss too.
Something else spectacular from a few nights ago taken from our very own attic room.
A sunset- we had one!
