I had a new visitor at my feeders today, a Hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes). I haven't seen one of those in at least fifteen years!

This weekend we were lucky enough to get in a hike before the weather turned dreary again. And honestly, I really just loved this bit of fluffy moss brightening up the winter woods.
