Shropshire dingles!

common_natureAnd before you all giggle, a dingle in English english is a deep wooded valley. The first one we come to is Loamhole Dingle. In this case, it contains a watercourse, the Loamhole Brook.
This is one of our favourite places in the entire region.
Heading for the woods we passed the pool which was once the power source for the Coalbrookdale iron works:
I love this little bridge which leads to the entrance to someone's property! Imagine crossing a bridge to get home every night.
This carving is slowly heading back to nature:
Wild garlic in full, spectacular flower!
And into Loamhole:
The Loamhole Brook. This is a good place for kingfishers, but the water level is way down after this long dry spell:
I know a lot of you will be looking for hobbits!
This brings us to another dingle, Lydebrook Dingle, but you have to climb out of Loamhole first!:
And eventually, we came out of the woodland at Leasowes farm. Leasowe is a local dialect word which you see a lot in the Shropshire countryside. It means meadow or pasture:
And there were sheeps, including this rather cute black lamb:
