The Not So Blue Moon

The moon was looming large and gold the last few weeks.



Despite how large it seemed in person, the above photo reveals how bright it was but not actually how big it looked on the horizon.

What I liked the most about the bottom shot was the glow of red along the bottom!

Thanks! Interestingly the quarter moon was even clearer than the full -- the effect of light and shadows I guess.

Aw, that's too bad! In truth the most amazing moon I've seen was many years ago -- almost red and huge and low to the horizon. Saw it during a commute but the traffic was bad and I didn't have a camera with me anyway.

Most of them were anything but as they were blurry smears of light 😉 But I did finally get the camera to focus at the right moment!

I like the first one most, it's always fascinating to see the shadows of the crater edges.
