Ashland and Gooseberry Falls

After our stop at the Wisconsin Dells my friends and I drove up to Ashland. We were supposed to go out on a boat tour during our day there but the weather prevented it. However our hotel was on the water and we had some good views the day we left when it cleared up.
The distance shot of the trees was a little blurry but I like the way it looks like a watercolor.
The view from our hotel window.
We drove up the lakefront from Duluth stopping at various sites. The first was Gooseberry Falls, which was very convenient to get to, just off from the highway and just a quarter of a mile from the parking lot.
The falls have 3 viewing options, top, middle and bottom of the falls. We went for the middle and because one of our group was having knee problems we didn't go to the other two viewing spots. I rather wish I had because we were expecting to visit another set of falls but didn't for time reasons.
I thought these tree roots had an interesting look.
