December Sky

In the middle of the night the moon was so bright it was lighting up the sky.





A recent sunset had what looked like brush strokes on a canvas.



Saturday morning when I woke up and went to our windows, I saw a large flotilla of geese sleeping on the lake. This is just part of the flock -- there were about 25 more to the right of these but I couldn't get a good shot without going out on the balcony and waking them up.

Apparently they were all sleeping in after a wild Friday night.

A lot of our sunsets lately have been just a glow on the horizon and then quick darkness. But every once in a while we get a show first 😉

I remember reading books about kids sneaking out in the moonlight to have adventures and the sky being nearly as light as day. I always wondered what it would look like.

It is so remarkably bright some nights when it is almost directly overhead. I get up for a bathroom visit and the whole living room floor is lit up.

Yes, it came out quite well, though still didn't capture the brightness of the night from the eye perspective.

So lovely to see those evening skies. It's mostly rain where I am, so the beautiful stuff is getting covered up a lot.

Yes, it's one think to have cloud cover with snowy nights but another where it's just grey.
