Star Sunset and Flare + Ducks

Perhaps because we were seeing it at a rippling distance, when I looked out at the lake the other night, the ball of fire that was the setting sun seemed to be reflected as a five pointed star. Don't know how clearly that came out here but I liked the photo regardless.

There was a nice partitioned look to the sky one day. When I went out to take a picture I realized there was what looked like a pink flare over the setting sun.



The ice is gone and, given forecasts, unlikely to return anytime soon. But I was amused by this group of ducks, two at rest, and two preparing to do the same.
