The Chorus Girls

12 x 24" oil on canvas. This was a commission (yes, I will paint chickens on commission, hah) and very fun to do.

We had a chicken coop in the yard when I was a kid in Florida, and for years it was my job to take care of them and gather the eggs. I've always liked them, and it's been a happy surprise to find that people LOVE chicken art.

Love the painting! My grandparents had a chicken coop in their backyard, but the chickens were I think long gone by the time I was old enough to care. It sure smelled like they were just there yesterday, though! :-D

The first of these paintings (there are two) was slightly smaller and in black/white/sepia, for a local exhibit called the Black & White Show. I posted that on Facebook and was asked if I could create a color version, and I said sure! So, knowing BRIGHT color was wanted, I pulled out the stops.
