Green finch

The goldfinches are on the nyger seed feeder almost every day, but the green finch is a less frequent and shyer visitor. I was delighted to get a shot of one bobbling about on the perch, finally!

Awesome! I hear them in our garden a lot, but it's hard to get to see them this close. Funny enough, I took a shot of one just two days ago - it looked almost yellow in a patch of sunlight, but it was further away and therefore pretty blurry.

That is one stunner of a shot, the lighting really shows off his bright colouring, really pretty.

They do look yellow in sunlight! This one's getting bolder with repeat visits, and I've now seen it competing with the sparrows for a spot on the other seed feeder, which is a standard bird seed mix.
