All kinds of critters

I've got many years worth of flora and fauna posts in my blog's nature tag although there are fewer such posts lately. But as a sampling of the sorts of things you could find:

Avian sagas of the various nests of varied birds we've had around our apartment. (This was probably the most popular of those posts).

Unfortunately many of my older posts lost their photos some time back when I had to change photo hosts. Those pics are gathered together here and include some flowers and trees as well as many birds, bird babies, bunnies, and sunsets.

Yes, quite a few duckies over the years. It's been some years now since we had duck nests on our balcony but we suspect another nest is being prepared in the bushes below us this year.

Oh god, that there is exactly why I love mourning doves. They're just so sweetly stupid.

Hah! They have never disappointed us in their cluelessness. I'm fairly sure that the sound they make as they fly off isn't just the wind going through their feathers but also their heads ;)

At my last place,we had a couple of mourning doves that liked to hang out on the railing of our front porch. I was sitting on the porch swing reading once, and I swear to god that I startled one enough when I changed position that it tried to launch but just fell off the rail. Then it got up and sort of wandered around the porch burbling to itself like it'd already forgotten that I was there. They're amazing.

Crows and ravens amaze with their smarts -- mourning doves, quite the opposite :D
