Geese on the Track

Recently my SO went to see races in Indianapolis and during the practice runs he captured a bit of nature making itself known.



As you can see from this farther picture, these Canada geese decided to get close to the track as the cars raced around.



They were there for several minutes before track staff came to urge them away since apparently neither the speed nor the noise seemed to intimidate them from getting closer to the track.

I am entirely unsurprised the geese were not perturbed by the whiny engines. Geese are not friendly to many things.

Good shots of the birds doing what they do best.

Indeed, I think the phrase should be "brave as a goose" because that's one species that is not easily intimidated!

Given the racket a gaggle of geese makes, I can imagine they wouldn't be intimidated by it. But one would wish for a bit more hazard awareness about the things moving REALLY fast!

That's true, and we sometimes hear them flying overhead well after dusk honking away.
