It does look like a cicada, but I think the angle enhances that. From the side I don't think it would look as similar.

Oh my goodness, this is a gorgeous photo! What kind of camera/lens did you use?

They do look so soft and fuzzy. :D I just used a canon digital camera with a zoom. It takes very sharp pictures. Then I cropped it to give a closer look at the bee.
