I live in the greater Seattle area, and we have a huge crow population (15,000+ roost at UW Bothell). A few weeks ago I left a bucket of water in our backyard, and a pair of them has started visiting us.



They also like our bird feeder.

We get blackbirds, but they remind me of (small) crows. I'm always delighted when I see a bird drinking from my water dish.

I'm not sure we have crows in the area, I think we have ravens. But curiously in years of putting out food we've never had one stop by.

Apparently your birds aren't so reticent!

Among my very favourite birds, pity they have such a bad rep around here (for being pests). Truth be told, I'm rather fond of the entire corvid family! Thank you for sharing your photos. :)

We had a very large raven visit and watch us for a few days after we moved in, but I guess it decided we were acceptable and went about its business, because we haven't seen it (or any other ravens) since, only crows.
