Remember that composite word from yesterday?

These are  the pics that put it in my head. Taken in the Wrekin (pronounced 'ree-kin') forest on the same day.

We have two species locally, English oak but in this case Welsh (sessile) oak. Being close to the border we get both sometimes in the same stretch of woodland.

Trees are always good. You get a lot of plane in London and they're a huge favourite of mine- that beautiful bark and they handle city pollution really well.

Yes, it’s mostly limes and plane trees around here.

No trees near our parking space, helpfully. But all of the leaves from the plane trees across the street end up in the corner of our forecourt every autumn >_>

Light and shadows can do so much.

Sometimes hard to capture (I have pictures over the years of reflections on surfaces via stained glass windows for instance) but well worth the attempt.
