Foxgloves

We took a walk up to Black Hayes during the week.

The foxgloves were out in abundance.

This is a common woodland wildflower locally not a garden escape.

Love the delicate color of these lovely flowers.

They are so pretty and useful too- foxglove is the source of digitalis for heart conditions and it was discovered by a local man, Dr William Withering.

They're a really common wild flower here.

Foxgloves always make me think of the illustrations of The Borrowers series, with Arrietty wearing them as hats. These are beautiful.
