Up the Wrekin
Jul. 16th, 2020 08:39 pmThe Wrekin (pronounced ree-kin) is our most local hill. It rises 1100' in about a mile or so.
The horse chestnuts (conkers) were fruiting as we climbed out. Early signs of Autumn already!


Rosebay willowherb- a favourite of mine.


I don't know what's what here, but they're pretty!

And another sign of Autumn!

And we began to climb the Wrekin by the northern face:

This is ancient woodland



About a third of the way up you begin to see the glories of Shropshire spread out below:


And the Welsh hills in the background:



I'll show you the rest of the walk another time.
It felt so good to be back! :o)
