Last week's walk
Jun. 16th, 2021 08:02 pmHere in North Shropshire.
A view from Ercall Woods

I love this tree with the hole right through it!

Sandstone cliffs in a sea of green:

The foxgloves (digitalis pupurea) are flowering. There's an interesting connection. The 18th century doctor, William Withering, who discovered the medicinal uses of the common foxglove, was a local boy and came from Wellington, where we live.

I'm always amazed where gorse will find a footing!

And ferns seem to be able to sprout just about anywhere!

Peeling birch bark. Such a pretty thing.

Fungi and lichen in competition.

How many buttercups would you like?
