I love this tree with the hole right through it!



Sandstone cliffs in a sea of green:



The foxgloves (digitalis pupurea) are flowering. There's an interesting connection. The 18th century doctor, William Withering, who discovered the medicinal uses of the common foxglove, was a local boy and came from Wellington,where we live.





I'm always amazed where gorse will find a footing!





And ferns seem to be able to sprout just about anywhere!



Peeling birch bark. Such a pretty thing.



Fungi and lichen in competition.



How many buttercups would you like?

Aw to the field of buttercups and neat about the tree with a hole in the center! Also, nice framing of the opening shot.

I've a tendency to take that shot all year round. A real favourite.

Strangely, it took me four years living here to notice that even though it's in a favourite bit of woodland.

Just up the hill from where we live- less that half a mile from the front door and a balm to the soul in these strange times.

Lovely photos!! I think my favourite is the buttercup meadow, it looks so wonderfully bright and cheerful.

That meadow always seems to have a fine crop!
