We have been having a garden re-design and the planting has included some echinops, which look as if they should be thistles, but are in fact daisy family. I've heard them described as 'daisies on steroids'

The bees love them!

This amused us. A little ladybird landed on our table and got a bit mixed up, ending up upside down. They seem to be a bit like sheep- if they end up on their backs, they have trouble righting themselves. My husband performed a rescue with his brass bookmark. She was kind enough to stay put long enough for him to lift it so I could get a pic before she flew away home, as they do.
