A few pics from our last walk
Aug. 7th, 2021 10:48 amThe Bulrushes are out and we ran across some in a local pool:

There were butterflies in abundance. This is a small heath sipping nectar on a thistle head. We were surrounded by scores of them!

This magnificent fungus (it was about two feet across) is a shaggy bracket. There was a wasps' nest in that crack underneath!

The oaks are now in full leaf:

Another butterfly. This is a small copper on a holly sapling:

Green across the fields as far as the Welsh border:

It was a nice day for that sort of thing! :o)
