This is the very best time of year for woodland fungi.

These are from our two most recent walks.

Two varieties here. The knobbly black one has the wonderful name of 'King Alfred's Cakes'. The other is a species of mazegill:





This bracket was huge- about two feet across!



A couple of smaller varieties:







Someone obviously finds this one to their taste!

Glad to see this in my feed. It's odd that I've missed a few posts made here and I was wondering if it was working properly but sure enough, here's one from today!

If you recall, he was accused of letting them burn hence the name for this one.
