Winter Ice and Sunset

It's been very cold here the past few days and the lake froze over on Wednesday. Friday morning it was covered in the nonpareil pieces of ice look, which I really like because it makes the lake sparkle. You can see glints of this in the top photo but it's brighter than it looks.

There were 3 ducks huddled around the aerator, and they spent the day either on the edge or swimming around in it -- trying to find food, I imagine.



I just liked the way the clouds drew a straight line across the sky at sunset.

Things have warmed up since, though the lake is still freezing overnight. But they have a lot more puddles now!

Thanks! We tend to see this far more often than snow these days. It doesn't tend to stay consistently cold enough for the snow to stick around.
