A walk up the Wrekin

The Wrekin is our local mountain. It counts as a mountain as it has an elevation of over 1000 feet.
We took a walk up to the summit today as we hadn't been up for a while and it was a nice enough day.
We walked from home through Ercall Woods to get to the foot of the Wrekin:
This is Buckatree Pool:

The wild garlic is beginning to put in an appearance:

The burn is well topped up after recent rain:

And we reached the foot and began the climb:



This is about half way up where you start to see the views over the north Shropshire countryside towards Wales:




And out onto the summit:




Looking down into the valley of the River Severn:


Can't argue with this:

Heading back down this is the Ercall as seen from the Wrekin:

And we found a rather splendid fungus on the way back home:
