Saturday Night Moon

Wonderful color on the moon last Saturday. Several photos came out like the one below, just a bright ball of light. But we did get a few pics of the color, and I like the way the branches framed it.

My partner looked at this and said "That's a Halloween moon."

It's rare to see a tree this bushy with blooms here these days. So many trees (as the ones in the background) are waiting until nearly June to put out leaves, and smartly so. We had a freeze a week ago and the many damaged trees around have likely just gone up in number. We lost the two dwarf lilacs we had on our balcony after 12 years due to a temperature dip that damaged their buds.
So this is a particularly welcome sight.

Date: 2025-04-15 06:16 pm (UTC)Getting close up made it a lot easier to pick up the deep color of the moon that night, but the digital camera also tends to be better at contrast and light and shade, whereas the phone camera photos tend to be flatter and much fuzzier on anything at a distance.
