A walk to Short Wood

The Hub and I have been down with the lurgi, aka omicron.

Being fully recovered we need to catch up with what's been going on in the hill country and woodland in our absence.

There are very definitely bluebells!

We walked up Lime Kiln Lane following the brook:



The local red sandstone soil.This is newly turned as it's been rested as grazing for the last couple of years:



More of the brook with lots of greenery:



We took the footpath up to Short Wood.



And there were bluebells. Not quite fully in bloom yet but definitely getting there:

And all sorts of greenery!



And we ran into a wood duck!  :o)

Is the beak of the wood duck carved? It's truly remarkable if that happened naturally!

The county of Shropshire where we live is a very green and rural place. The county only has two towns of any size.
